Every month, we want to feature a customer that loves their Little Guy teardrop camper trailer.
This issue’s featured customer is Tom and Susan Kingma. They purchased a 5×8 Silver Shadow and made a few changes to it so it suits their needs to the T. They are members of Tearjerkers in the St. Augustine FL area.
The custom graphics they added accent their red HHR, as do the red trim rings. In addition to that, they added a external water filter mounted on the driver’s side (which is removable for mounting on cabinet door while driving ). This provides easy clean water wherever you’re at!
Get out and have some camping fun for us all, Tom and Susan and thanks again for sharing!

There are always new, neat or practical accessories that emerge for teardrops and camping in general. Sometimes, it’s not that they are new per se, but just that they are very smart. There are also cool places to travel to and see. This section will highlight an accessory that’s pretty nifty as well as a destination, whether popular or relatively unknown.

As featured last July, we are once again highlighting the tent….why do you ask, well for one simple reason – it is the #1 selling accessory. For the next 30 days, we are going to extend a tremendous offer so you can get your hands on one of these beauties.
Teardrops are really ideal and practical, but sometimes you need some “living quarters” or standing/changing space. The 10’x 10’ Screen room offers more than just extra living space, it can offer privacy as well. With awnings on all four sides and your choice of screened walls or solid private walls, the tent offers flexibility. It’s also perfect for when you have a couple of guests along for the journey. 4 sleeping bags or cots could easily be set up in the tent.
While it was designed for the Little Guy and Silver Shadow Trailer line, it is compatible with many teardrops with similar sized doors and dimensions from door to fender. If your door is 28” wide and 35” tall or less, the door cut out will be just perfect. The fender cut-out accommodates for simple aluminum semi-circle fenders or a full sized fiberglass fenders (California-style).

Until February 14, 2010, get $100 on any Custom Screen Room Tent purchase from the Teardrop Shop when you use the discount coupon code: TENT100

Camping adventures of fellow Little Guy owners.
I purchased my Little Guy a few months ago and took my first trip, of any length, during the early part of Oct.– My trip was from Oregon through Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Mich. and Wisc.–Total round trip took 3 weeks, traveling 5,200 miles.
This was an inspiring trip for a recently widowed, 74 year old fellow who has always relied upon motels for traveling accommodations. I can’t say enough about the convenience, fun and relaxing experiences this trip afforded me. I went through: snow, rain and wind over the length of the trip and the Little Guy handled without incident. When the weather overcame me with little or no notice, I had no problem finding a place to put down for the night or until the weather pattern changed to more favorable conditions. —Looking forward to my next adventure in the springtime, mainly so I can spend
more time cooking my own meals on the road. I’m in the planning stage of putting together another trip in the Spring. High desert of Oregon to Death Valley, Yosemite, Grand Canyon with a visit to New Mexico and return.

Gus is our resident expert on the Rascal. A customer since 2005, Gus has logged 80,000+ miles with his Rascal and hardly ever leaves it home – even when running a simple errand in town. If you have a question about the Rascal and how your bike may interface with it, just ASK GUS!
Francisco (New Mexico) – Hi Gus, I had a really quick one for you – do you EVER unhook your Rascal?
Francisco….
That is a VERY good question…it may be sarcastic, yet it does expose me for who I really am – I hardly ever take off my Rascal because I never know when I may need it. Even when I make a quick run into town, I take it in case I get more than a bag or two at the grocery store. I also get the benefit of stability when I do have all of that extra cargo. So, in short, yes, but maybe once a week.
